Fly Fishing the Guadalupe River, New Braunfels, Texas

We put in at Maricopa and set out on our half day guided trip with Brent Hodges & Daniel Hughes of Reel Fly Guide Service.   The weather at 7:00 am was clear and 56 degrees with a light wind.   This will be my seventh fly fishing trip with Brent and fourth trip with Daniel.   Brent & Daniel do a great job putting us on the trout every time.  This trip was no exception.   Mike hooked up with the first rainbow which gave him an awesome fight.  Mikes’ fish was about 18″ long.   I caught the next rainbow at Devil’s Playground.   My fish was a 16″ female.   The fishing slowed for a little while until Rod caught a massive 20″ brown trout at L&L falls.     Mike and I hooked up with a double rainbow catch at the 3rd bridge crossing.    The day ended with two more fish for Rod.   One was a 16″ rainbow and the other was a 14″ brown.    All in all we had a great day on the water.   Brent & Daniel did a great job guiding us to the fish again.     You can schedule you own fly fishing adventure with Brent or Daniel at Reel Fly Fishing Adventures.  (830) 964-4823
