Captain David Dillman is no stranger to Galveston Bay. He started fishing the salt waters with his dad in the 1960s when he was just five years-old. In 1988, he became a Galveston Bay fishing guide part time while working at the YMCA as a Childcare Director. By 1990, he combined his experience fishing with his expertise from working with children and became known as one of the best fishing guides for families on Galveston Bay.
Captain David Dillman fishes out of Eagle Point Fishing Camp, which is centrally located on Galveston Bay. He started his Galveston Bay fishing charter service there in the 1980s. At that time, he became dubbed as the “Innovative Leader of Utilizing Live Croakers in the Pursuit of Speckled Trout”. Since then, using croaker as bait has become one of the most popular ways to catch trout on Galveston Bay.
After more than 30 years as a Galveston Bay Fishing Guide, Captain David Dillman still enjoys every memory created while watching his customers catch fish.
